ABOUT

Hey!

I’m glad that you made it to my page.

I hope that we can work together to make your children's education more fun and effective!

My name is Michael Farnoosh. I grew up in Los Angeles where I had the opportunity to grow up in a close-knit community and make lifelong friends. Through this community, I learned the benefit of mentorship, as I was privileged to have many individuals invested in my personal growth. I went to Yeshiva for high school and moved to New York at age seventeen to study biology at Yeshiva University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree.

I have been working with children and adolescents for most of my life. I am passionate about mentoring young people, specifically, I enjoy learning the way their unique minds work then adapting my teaching in a way that speaks their language. It is very gratifying to guide young people through the process of learning, watching them gain confidence in their own abilities. My belief is that everyone has an inherent capacity for learning, and it is my job to help young people recognize and embrace their style of learning through patience, acceptance, and curiosity.

I have worked with a wide age range of kids in a variety of settings on diverse topics. I have tutored kids from ages seven to seventeen in Math, English, Torah studies, Hebrew, social studies, chemistry, biology, and physics. I have taught children as young as five how to read Hebrew and have worked with 1st through 8th graders in English, Hebrew, Jewish studies, and science. I worked with 9th, 10th, and 11th graders in algebra, geometry, and Talmud studies. For eight years, I helped lead and run a Shabbat program that taught kids ages four to twelve about the portion of the week, as well as the Shabbat prayers.

I currently offer 30 minute, 1 hour, and 2-hour long tutoring sessions virtually and in-person. Please see below for pricing. The main topics I cover include: Hebrew, Jewish Studies, math, science, and social studies. I am open and flexible to teaching other common subjects at your request.

In order to ensure I am able to meet the needs of as many students as possible, I offer payment plans when needed. I never want financial constraints to be a reason a student does not receive the help they need. If you would like to discuss the payment plan option, please contact me
